OUR WORK
THE PLAN
We’ve got to be honest with you…
We aren’t ___________.
We aren’t “saving” women.
We aren’t “rescuing” women
We’re all out of magic wands.
We don’t have a magic potion.
We don’t have a special prayer.
We don’t have a foolproof therapeutic strategy.
And as it turns out, we’re no good at being anybody’s savior.
Trust us,
We’ve tried…
But what we DO have is…
BeLoved Atlanta provides the only two-year home for survivors of prostitution, trafficking and addiction in the city of Atlanta.
The 4 Steps to Healing
-
1. SAFE & SECURE HOUSING
We provide a warm bed in a loving community so she knows she belongs.
-
2. RESTORATION PROGRAM
We provide group & individual therapy so she knows she can heal.
-
3. EDUCATION & A JOB
We provide additional education & employment so she knows there’s hope.
-
4. ONGOING SUPPORT
We provide support after the program is complete so she knows she’s not alone.
STEP #1
Safe & Secure Housing
All the women in our program have lived through homelessness. It is a universal experience for those who’ve been involved in the sex industry.
BeLoved Atlanta operates four homes where program participants can live, free of charge. Residents become a part of a sisterhood with other women on the same healing journey.
More than just a warm bed and a space place, BeLoved Homes are a refuge where women can be fully seen and fully loved.
STEP #2
Restoration Program
We believe healing occurs through dignity, respect and accountability. BeLoved provides resources to assess each resident’s physical, mental health, and spiritual needs.
We offer group counseling using DBT, DBT for Substance Use Disorder, trauma processing, 12 Steps for Recovery, and other therapeutic & life skills groups. Each resident works individually with a DBT licensed counselor and a case manager to identify their resilience and create a plan for growth towards a healthy life.
STEP #3
Education & Employment
An individual action plan is created for each resident to assist in accomplishing her educational and employment goals. This includes GED programs, tutoring, continuing education, job readiness training, and assistance with job placement.
STEP #4
Ongoing Support
As a resident prepares to transition out of the BeLoved Home, we assist her in finding affordable and healthy housing. Residents may also qualify for assistance with deposit and first months rent.
Once a graduate moves on from the program, we continue to support her with quarterly case management, weekly support groups, scholarship opportunities, and resources.
